Jellybean came into care after being saved from euthanasia. This five-year-old long-haired tabby mix is friendly, affectionate and playful.

He enjoys being brushed with a rubber zoom groom brush, flopping to the ground when he is overstimulated and batting at the brush (without using claws) to say, “I’m done.”

Jellybean doesn’t like having his nails trimmed, so trimming one or two at a time while he’s sleeping and then giving him treats afterward seems to work best.

He is afraid of other cats, poor fella, so Jellybean needs to be an only cat.

He’s great with his litter-box and has a healthy appetite. In fact, he’ll beg for treats anytime he sees an open cupboard.

His favourite exercise is to chase dangling strings, which is also a great way to train him to use a scratching post – dangling a string for him to grab with his paws helps train him to recognize what is his “territory” to mark

He likes to chase small crumpled balls of paper and play with them. He’ll drink from the bathtub (or the toilet on occasion). He often likes to sit in the tub when it’s not in use and enjoys taking a nap there, or just hanging out with his people.

Jellybean does have brief bursts of energy, usually after breakfast and dinner, and likes to run around excitedly and play with strings. Most of his day is spent hanging out and snoozing nearby, occasionally getting up to move to a different room or napping spot.

He likes to sleep on the bed at night if there’s room for him, but usually gets up in the middle of the night to move around. Jellybean will cry if left outside a closed door, so he would be happiest in a home where he can explore and isn’t locked out of the bedroom at night.
