Phantom is our current lady of mystery! With her sleek black-and-white coat and a perfectly placed “white mask” across her face, she looks just like a little superhero. Phantom recently lost her previous owner, so she is still figuring out this new chapter of her life. She is a truly sweet cat, but she is also very nervous. It is incredibly obvious that she wants love and affection, but she is still pretty scared to receive it.
We are making steady progress with this gentle girl, even if it happens slowly. Like many shy cats, Phantom takes a few steps forward and then a step back. She gets spooked very easily—sometimes by things humans can’t even notice—and her first instinct is to find a safe hiding spot. She used to spend all her time under the bed, but her foster family has blocked access to that area to help her socialize. Now, she is living the cozy life in various cat cubbies, though she is always on the hunt for the next tiny spot she can squeeze into!
Phantom is definitely showing her brave side, especially around her foster dad. She is much more comfortable with him right now and will happily roll around for pets when he lays down on the bed with her. Her playful, curious nature is also starting to peek through the shadows. Just today, she spontaneously decided to play and almost crawled right into the toy box to choose some toys!
Because she is still building her confidence, Phantom needs a patient, quiet home where she can bloom on her own schedule. If you have a peaceful space, a soft spot for the shy ones, and a heart big enough to let her settle in at her own pace, Phantom will make a wonderfully rewarding companion.
