FurryTales Foster

In Care

Adoptee #: 10936

Name: Eleanor
Sex: Female
Birthday: 2016-01-10

At ten years old, Eleanor has seen a lot of life, but her most important chapter is just beginning. This grey and white sweetheart was found as a stray, surviving on the streets when she should have been curled up on a warm sofa. Now that she’s safe in our care, we are dedicated to giving her the "retirement" she truly deserves.

Once arriving at her foster's, it did not take Eleanor long at all to make herself right at home. Despite her time on the streets, she is the definition of a lap cat. She is already eating very well and seems incredibly relaxed in human company, greeting her foster family with a calm and trusting spirit.

Eleanor is a stunning girl with an adorable face and long, soft grey and white fur. While she is beautiful, she does need a little extra TLC to help with fur loss on the bottom half of her body due to an allergic skin reaction. With proper grooming, high-quality food, and a stress-free environment, we know her coat will eventually match her beauty.

As you might expect from a distinguished senior, Eleanor is very calm and prefers the simple pleasures in life. She is a total purring machine who will happily claim any available lap for head scratches and a long nap Because Eleanor needs time to heal and regain her full coat, she will be staying in our care for a while before she is ready to find her forever retirement home. We want to make sure she feels 100% her best before she makes her final move.

We’ll post more updates on this loving girl as she continues her journey to health.

Name: Maple
Sex: Male
Birthday: 2016-10-14

Maple arrived at his foster home after a stressful stay in a shelter.

Throughout his time in care, he has been very slowly gaining confidence. His foster can entice him to play with wand toys from the safety of his cat bed. He now roams a few rooms in the house and spends much of his time under the couch in the sitting room, where people often gather. He will occasionally emerge while they are around to eat or for a change of scenery. He is still quite cautious of people, but has started to acknowledge that his fosters are not threats.

His fosters have not yet attempted to pet him, as he occasionally delivers a short hiss when you get very close.

From day one, he has used his litter reliably and has been eating and drinking normally. He likes all flavours and textures of wet food. He was originally interested in Temptations treats, but has recently been ignoring them, so treat flavours might be one area for experimentation.

Maple seems to enjoy observing his fosters, but always on his own terms. He's a beautiful and clever cat who needs a patient, respectful home. He will need to move at a very slow pace in any home he goes to, and based on his fosters' experiences with him so far, it will take several months for him to start coming out of his shell. Any adopter would need to be prepared to accept a cat who may always be a little aloof and need a little space.
